I mean Korra even took Asami to the water tribe to see how her family would feel about them. The action is great but the whole lesbian relationship somehow over shadows the story or at least their relationship seems to be the driving force of the story. As you can probably guessed, Asami does get kidnap and Korra has to come and rescue her from Tokuga. A new guy called Tokuga who then gets corrupted by a spirit and becomes deformed.Īlthough the comic book trilogy is called turf wars, I really do feel that this story was made so that fans can see a bit of the struggle with Korra and Asami. Now the comic book basically continues with the struggle of creatures from the spirit world and the human colliding with each other with a new villain on the loose. I am a heterosexual man but hey I like to see lesbians. I was really hoping that there was more to this comic book than Korra and Asami’s relationship which was rather enjoyable. So if you wanted to see some lesbian action with Korra and Asami then this comic book does have some stuff for you. Books and graphic novels are a little more private in a sense that other people cant really see what you are watching or reading. So it was a good idea if the creators of Korra left this part of the show for the comic book. Like I said, anime has been showing homosexuality for a long time. Not sure if it was the first lesbian couple on a cartoon show.

Legend of Korra made a buzz with the whole Asami relationship. Japanese anime does just fine and they don’t make a big deal about it but here in the west people have mixed feelings about it because hey, what kind of father or mother wants their kids to grow up gay.

Society still does not know how to bring the whole homosexuality to cartoons yet. Is not everyday that we have gay characters on cartoons and the worst part is that kids are not aware. One of the reasons why they decided to leave the sexuality between the two girls for the comic book was because it was probably too hot for television and there would be so much reaction from fans as well as parents. Since it was a kids show fans assumed that they were just good friends. Fans were not aware of how the two characters felt about each other. The show was very shocking at the end when Korra went into the spirit world with what appeared to be her girlfriend, Asami. Well, it is the only bad ass show on Nickelodeon. Legend of Korra had to be the most bad ass show on Nickelodeon.
